With a passionate dedication to engaging her entrepreneurial spirit by opening her retail shop and photography school, she wants to get to the bottom of what makes a successful maker. Teresa Flowers is a mover and shaker for the arts with an internationally recognized career as a multimedia artist based in Portland, OR. Her photography has been featured in more than two dozen publications, including Shots Fine Art Photography Magazine, NAKID Magazine, Ugly Magazine, Amadeus Magazine, Photo District News, Oregon Bride and Groom and Black and White Magazine. She won the prestigious award of Fine Art Photographer of the Year at the International Photo Awards as well as the People’s Choice Award in photography. She has received several grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and was the Artist In Residence at Maker City in Downtown Los Angeles. She is the founder of The Women’s Art Center and the Creative Development Institute. Teresa was one of Women’s Business Magazine thirty women to watch in business. Her radio show “Obsession” won best radio show by City Weekly on Utah FM. She also hosted the talk show Arteries, a conversation about art. Most recently, she has focused on Alien Mermaid Cove, an up-cycled clothing store featuring her own in house fashion brand Altered States. She has 25 years of teaching experience and has put on some of the biggest independent photo and arts festivals in the world.
